Fitzwilliam Work List : 1880 DIES DOMINI. George Howard The window for St Michael and All Angels, Easthampstead was made in 1875 for which Burne-Jones was paid £120. In 1880, the cartoons for the four compartments of the windows were coloured in wax that same year when he was working closely with George Howard on St Martin's, Brampton stained glass, and presumably it was then that Howard commissioned a copy of Dies Domini - the present version. Sewter Voll II p 67 states that this version was sold from the Howard collection in 1922 via Sotheby's sale room London.
The cartoon is shown on display at the South London Art Gallery c.1900, details of the exhibition is unknown at present.
