This is a design for a tile panel, one of six commisssioned from the firm of Morris & Co by the architect George Edmund Street. It was intended for the chancel of Church of St Peter's, Bournemouth in 1864, and finally assigned to Burne-Jones in 1866. The tiles were removed in 1890 because they had deteriorated so badly. This design, squared up for enlargement, shows figures compressed into a very shallow space, within a courtyard and Renaissance colonnade. Bequeathed by James Richardson Holliday, 1927
