Red crayon study : Sketchbook V&A E3.1955 Study of a classical head (from sculpture) a head on profile, studies of feet from the The Townley c.1865 The drawing of "Amor" obviously derived from this study of the Townley Venus ,reveals how the relationship between life and art with Burne-Jones was one which appears to obliterate boundaries. If "Amor" was drawn from life, then the artist was deliberately seeking to to dissolve the barriers between imagination and reality.
