Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co, 1 April 1863 meeting at 8 Red Lion Square, minute book, Hammersmith and Fulham Archives "The cartoons for the single figures in Bradford East window allotted as follows... Ned: Virgin Mary, David at 3£ each..."
The re-attribution of this work on stylistic grounds is given to William De Morgan through a comparison with figures in the East window of the Parish Church of Rocester, notably there is no documentation in the records of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner and Co. relating this to Burne-Jones. Designed for the East window of seven lights and tracery, but the window was broken up and re-distributed about the Lady the chapel in 1964.
