The relevant entry in BJ's A/c bk is probably the one sandwiched between entries for the Cassle Howard windows in June 1872: 'Nativity £15'. There is some confusion over this design, which is a varient of that used at Forden in 1873, and later elsewhere. Marillier evidently thought that the Forden version was the earliest, and the date which he assigned to most of the Waterford windowswas 1874-76. This dating, however, was probably just a guess, and not based on documents, since he was unaware of the Chancel E window and of the Nave N window. This varient of the Forden design was almost certainlt the first version of it, the later versions omitting the choir of Angels.
