Stained glass design by Edward Burne-Jones for Morris & Co. The design depicts Christ holding an orb, surrounded by angels with folder wings. It is inscribed: Emmanuel Church, Plymouth 21.9.1881 See: Albert Charles (A. C.) Sewter, The Stained Glass of William Morris and His Circle, 1974, vol II p. 154
... and the cartoon is in the William Morris Gallery, Walthamstow (BLA 404), inscribed 'Plymouth, Emmanuel Ch. 1881'; but that inscription indicates a later re-use in an adapted form. In the account book there is a charge of £10.10.0 in February 1865 for a 'Majesty' presumably for cartoon now at Walthamstow.
