... 3 / Friday - Not 94 / tired of my letter are you? / I dont wonder - what / happens to-day? Olive / to lunch I think from whom I / haven't heard for long - & Carlisle / And tonight I dine with Violet / & go with her & Niggs to a / play - I wish we might sit & / talk instead - I dont want to go / to another play for months - / Frances won't be there as she is / to go to Terling. But how / I do wish people would write to / me & say "May is coming on Thursday, / of course you are coming too?" / will they ever? if they weren't / very obtuse & stupid they would / by now. / So rested this morning, long dreamless / sleep - & I was ten minutes late / in rising which throws the day / out terribly - so exactly is / time measured now. - and next / week is your last week in Ireland / & than a few days at Beaumont / - where I have sent what looked / a pretty fairy book for Daphne / Friday - & then do you go / another visit? the one you / said was to be for Amy's / pleasure? As I sit & / write the words, calmly enough / one would think, all inside / me is a flutter, as if birds / were flying - I can't be full / of birds - funny it is - I like / this little tribute to you - & it / comes often in the day. but / at the first mention of it, it / is a little surprising & / unacceptable. / not a morning letter & so / none to answer - hurrah! / Theresa says she will come / & chat at 4 on Wednesday / next & I have written back / to bid her come & I will / tell her everything - what / a shame to tease her - Oh / her letter to me! I must keep / it to show you / & now goodbye - but I never / leave you long - when I have / posted my letter I always / put out a new sheet, & go / to it whenever I pause or / rest in ,y work - or if something / very very important comes / into my mind to say. / Always and always / E. / [pen & ink drawing of a bird fling with a flower in its beak]
