THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD. TWENTY-FIVE PICTURES BY EDWARD BURNEJONES, 25 illustrations, original cloth-backed boards, 1902. The Burne-Jones illustrations are a collection of designs made for an illustrated edition of J.W. Mackail's Biblia Innocentium, published by the Kelmscott Press, 1892.
These 25 woodcuts were originally designed for an illustrated edition of J. W. Mackail's 'Biblia Innocentium', to be published by the Kelmscott Press. The edition was not proceeded with, owing to the death of William Morris. The 25 completed cuts were issued in book form in 1902.
