Remo for / the winter (he has been / dangerously ill) & I plan / to take him up & travel / a bit near Rome in april / but Lord! what things happen / in a few months - thanks / for your letter about Stanton / - I will keep it well in / mind - at present / am over ? for I / can scarcely find work for / Rooke at times - but / a press might come & then / I could gladly avail, / myself of his help if / he could still be at my / disposal - / Howard got the photos from / Lombardi - street scenes in Siena - beautiful ones - I / wish more were taken - will / you send me copies of them / - & how am I to pay you for / what you get me? - write / to me for money if you are / ever pressed & I will send / it to you - also I will go / & see the picture at / Hughes' - but you have / told me no prices & / so I am altogether at / sea about them - you / did well to get off when / you did for the weather / has simply been devilish / - everybody ill - most / people dying - a few / convalescent - I get / dreadfully dismal with / never getting out, but time / will pass - & perhaps in the / Spring! Morris is well / we are hard at the Virgil / which goes apace - & / the Sunday morning readings / still go on - all of my / ? at present - poor old Brown has lost his / Nolly who died of typhoid / fever - now goodbye / take care of yourself & / write often - be sure I / shall answer at last / Everyouraffect / EB.J.
