William Morris Tiles: The Tile Designs of Morris and His Fellow-Workers
Richard and Hilary Myers
1996
pp. 21-24, pl. 9b p. 41 (similar tile illustrated, which could be this one) and p.21 (notes that in Burne-Jones's accounts of 1862, he lists 'Tiles 12 single figures £3' which are believed to refer to the 'The Goode Wimmen' series. The 'Wimmen' were Geoffrey Chaucer's characters, based on classical antiquity, and known for their devotion to their respective lovers)
