Recto: with some variation in the positions of the right arm and left hand, and the turn of the left leg, this figure becomes a female in 'The Sleeping Beauty' of the 1870 version of 'Briar Rose' and in 'The Rose Bower' in the 1884 version of this subject. In both cases it is the far right figure. Verso: this figure is found neither in the 1870 nor in the 1884 version of the 'Briar Rose'.
