A highly finished drawing of the head of a girl in 'The Passing of Venus'. Burne-Jones made several version of this subject; there is an oil version of about 1876/7 at Exeter College, Oxford and another, later oil (unfinished) in the Tate. The design features in the background of 'Laus Veneris' (1875) and was made into a tapestry by Morris and Co. in 1898.
