Fitzwilliam Account Book 1861 Majesty 1... (£) 1862 Jany.1 Small desg. for King Stanley Ch: 1 0. In the early stages of the foundation of the Firm, the writing up of the accounts was haphazard and it is difficult to decide at times what the entries refer to. This design appears in the central apse window at the east end of the church, above Madox Browns Crucifixion. A similar Majesty roundel by Morris is at the centre of the rose window at the west end of the church.
It remained the only complete scheme of glazing for a church, designed and executed at all the same period, and is thus of outstanding importance as an example of the firm's early work.
