The painting technique, the glass selected and the mosaic of the background glass and leading would indicate that this panel is much later than 1878/9 and was more likely to have been made circa 1900. Throughout the designs for Holden's windows, the shape of the upper part of the window is consistent in coming to a central point which precludes this window as being part of that set. The face of Sol in the present window is typical of those made after Burne-Jones's death. Sol, in the original cartoon is closer to the model and not idealized as in the later window. Sewter records the existence of five examples made between 1894 and 1903 and there may actually be other undocumented versions still in existence.
