Fitzwilliam Account book 1873 Jan : 1 Daniel Scarborough 8 (£) The style of the drawing is that of Fairfax Murray, the emphasis and hesitancy in the line is characteristic of a number of cartoons made in the early 1870s. Specifically telling here around the wrist and the flying drapes, the fluency with which Burne-Jones fills his brush and continues a line through is not evident here. The method of applying the shading is not consistent with that of the Master. The correction made by applying the Chinese white around the knee is most likely to have been done by Burne-Jones.
