Fitzwilliam Account Book 1865 Aug. 4 heads in Circles of Chaucer heroines 3 On page 23 "Birket Foster" by M Huish 1890 Art Annual, in an illustration of The Hill, Witley, 10 roudels can be seen which must include one from the present design. The designs were also used for Thomas Garnett at Oakwood Hall, Park, Lane, Bingley, West Yorshire, produced at about the same time. The linear drawing technique Burne-Jones has used and the shading by means of single lines was to facilitate easier transition onto glass.
