Mary Bartley was a tall model who worked with G F Watts. Mary "Long Mary" Bartley was a housemaid at Little Holland House before becoming a model for G F Watts. Due to her statuesque proportions, Long Mary soon became Watts's favourite model. Long Mary featured in many of the artist's charcoal sketches as well as in oil paintings, and she was one of the models who posed for Watts's famous bronze sculpture Clytie (https://www.facebook.com/wattsgalleryartistsvillage/photos/mary-long-mary-bartley-was-a-housemaid-at-little-holland-house-before-becoming-a/10153565273454779/)
A drawing made during a modelling session with Mary Bartley assuming various poses.
