This is a study for the stained glass design of 'The Resurrection' produced for Selsley Church, near Stroud, Gloucestershire, 1861, but not executed. This figure was not incorporated into the final design. On the reverse is part of a sketch for 'The Backgammon Players'
It remained the only complete scheme of glazing for a church, designed and executed at all the same period, and is thus of outstanding importance as an example of the firm's early work.
