The cartoon for the central panel of the upper tier (Plate 224) is in the Birmingham City Art Gallery (179'00), together with drawings nos. 2-4 and 7-9 (595-600'27). The 1939 Catalogue of Drawings states that they were made in 1865 for a window at Liverpool, and used agin at Meole Brace about 1870 ; but no such window exists at liverpool; some of the designs were indeed used again at Meole Brace, but the whole series of 6 drawings are studies for the Torquay window.
