Around 1890, possibly in conversation with his son-in-law J W MacKail, who was contemplating an edition of Biblia Innocentium, Burne-Jones began thinking of illustrations to the bible which later were to have culminated in a Kelmscott Press edition containing over 200 illustration. Owing to Morris's death this did not come to fruition.
