He was known for her eccentricities and her photographs. She has here isnscribed this copy to artist and family friend Arthur Hughes (1832-1915) who painted a portrait of Susan's sister, Jane. Kitty, the third sister was the model for Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway. Bound in full green morocco. Inscribed on the ffep "Mr. Hughes from Susan Lushington Kingsley June 1912."
